Timesheet Management

For successful timesheet management within the EDGE system, several key elements must be considered.

  • Firstly, organizations need established policies and procedures to ensure accurate recording and tracking of timesheets.
  • Secondly, appropriate controls must be in place to maintain data integrity and comply with government regulations.
  • Lastly, an efficient reporting system should be used to provide detailed information on employee time tracking activities swiftly.

Effective Timesheet Management in the EDGE framework requires understanding each user's role in managing their own timesheets and those of others in their organization. This includes clear visibility into employees' clock-in/out times, work duration, and completed tasks. The EDGE Timesheet Management system is also scalable to accommodate company growth without constant system revisions.

A timesheet is a record of the total hours an employee spends on each task. It can be used to calculate invoicing amounts, employee remuneration, or track employee participation in a project or activity.

Known also as a Timecard, a Timesheet is a document employees fill out to indicate the dates and times spent working on assignments, projects, or with clients during the week. At week's end, they submit it to their manager for approval. Managers have the ability to review and approve timecards in real time.

The system also monitors and maintains records of all Timecards, both approved and unapproved.

The timesheet workflow aims to automate the entire process, from organized and structured data entry to timesheet approval and data reporting maintenance.
